> **This is the September 2026 edition**, the newest of our monthly rankings. Earlier editions: [August](/blog/most-mentioned-stocks-august-2026), [July](/blog/most-mentioned-stocks-july-2026) and [June](/blog/most-mentioned-stocks-june-2026). For this week's numbers, see **[the most mentioned stocks board](/most-mentioned-stocks)**, updated every Monday.

Meta was the most talked about stock across the finance X and Reddit accounts we track in
September 2026. In August it ranked ninth with 242 mentions. In September it drew 808, more
than any other company, and the stock gained 26.8%.

Six of the ten names below were not on the August list. Across all companies, those accounts
posted 11,887 stock mentions in September from 2,948 distinct authors: 7,313 on X and
4,574 on Reddit. Of the mentions that took a side, 74% were bullish, the same reading as our
[stock market sentiment](/blog/stock-market-sentiment) page.

*Window: September 1 to 30, 2026. Bull and Bear under each mention count are the positive and
negative share of the company's mentions; the rest are neutral. "Trusted mentions" is the share
of a company's mentions posted by authors with a real track record. Price is the close-to-close
move from August 31, the last trading day of August, to the September 30 close.*

## What stood out in September

**The score had Meta before the crowd did.** Our August edition set Meta beside Palantir,
242 mentions to 243, with Palantir's crowd the more bullish of the two
(60% positive to Meta's 47%). The Quantral score at the end of August ranked them the other way,
76 for Meta and 59 for Palantir. From the August 31 close to September 30, Meta went from
$572.34 to $725.18. Palantir went from $186.38 to $187.05. Meta's crowd showed up later in the
month: 36 mentions from September 1 to 7, then 357 from September 22 to 30. We graded who was
early on that move in **[who was bullish on Meta before Muse](/blog/meta-stock-sentiment-before-muse)**.

**Six names left the table, and some newcomers lasted a week.** AMD, Nike, Broadcom, Alphabet,
Dell and Apple joined. SanDisk (12th this month with 210 mentions), Hertz, SpaceX, Applied
Optoelectronics, Palantir and Marvell dropped out. Broadcom drew 139 of its 252 mentions from
September 1 to 7, 104 of them on September 2 alone, and Dell drew 134 of its 227 in that same
first week. Micron's month ran the other way: 389 of its 616 mentions came in the last nine
days, 218 of them on September 30, the day it reported. Hertz, August's fourth-loudest name,
drew 4.

**The lean matched the month on nine of ten names.** Nine rooms leaned bullish, and eight of
those stocks finished September higher while the S&P 500 (SPY) slipped 0.3%. Broadcom was the
exception, 54% bullish and down 5.0%. Nike was the one name the accounts we track leaned
against, 54% bearish to 26% bullish, and it fell 8.4%. That run has not held from month to
month: two of July's ten rose, then seven of August's, then eight of September's. Read one
month's split as the mood of the room.

**Nebius again had the most credible room.** 51% of its mentions came from authors with a
track record, the highest trusted share in the table, as it was in June and July. The stock
rose 14.3%. Dell sat at the other end with 11% and still gained 18.0%, so a thin trusted share
tells you about the crowd, and the price can go either way.

## How we count mentions

Quantral does not read the entire firehose. We track a curated set of accounts on finance X and
Reddit, the voices worth listening to, and the monthly board on our
[Reddit stock tracker](/reddit-stock-tracker) counts the same set. For this ranking we counted
every post from those accounts that referenced a company between September 1 and September 30,
deduplicated reposts, and classified each mention as positive, negative or neutral. Quantral
also reads Korean investor blogs, YouTube, Telegram and insider and Congress filings. This
ranking keeps to X and Reddit so the months compare like for like, which is why its total is
lower than the 12,895 mentions on the sentiment page.

## How to read this

A mention count shows you where attention went. The bull and bear split shows which way the
room leaned, and the trusted share shows how much of the room had a record we can check. None
of the three is a forecast. The Quantral score puts them together: it weights each mention by
the author's record, damps the same person posting a name ten times, and reads the most recent
week of conversation. That is how it ranked Meta above Palantir at the end of August, with
Meta's crowd the less bullish of the two. A low count on a name is a coverage reading in the
accounts we track, not silence with a verdict attached.

## The takeaway

Use the monthly count to see where the conversation went, then check who was talking before
you act. September's top name sat ninth in August, with a split crowd and a 76 score. The same
board runs weekly: **[the most mentioned stocks this week](/most-mentioned-stocks)**. The
Quantral app shows the score for any stock you follow, with the calls behind it.

*Mention counts cover posts on X and Reddit from the accounts Quantral tracks, September 1 to
30, 2026; August figures are as published in the August edition. Price moves in the table are
adjusted for dividends; dollar prices quoted in the text are plain closes. Micron reported after
the September 30 close, so its price move stops before the market's reaction. Quantral surfaces
signals and context from public sources to support your own research. Nothing here is financial
advice or a recommendation to buy or sell.*
