StockTwits alternatives: six sentiment tools, and the one that grades the posters

This page compares six StockTwits alternatives, and the finding is narrow: only one of them knows whether the people posting have been right before. The other five count mentions or score the mood, and none of them grades the poster.

StockTwits does two things well. It is the largest free community built for investors, and its bull-or-bear meter gives you the mood on a ticker in seconds. Its limits come from that same meter. Every tag counts the same, so a new account carries the weight of one with years of calls behind it. The read comes from one community. The meter moves with volume, so a pumped stock shows the pump at full strength.

What to look for in a StockTwits alternative

Four questions sort the field.

  1. Does it grade the posters? A tool that weights posts by track record reads the credible slice of the crowd. A tool that does not gives you the same show of hands StockTwits does.
  2. How many sources does it read? One community gives you one room. X, Reddit and Substack each hold a different crowd.
  3. Mood or filtered score? A mention count or a bull-bear split tells you where attention sits. A filtered score tells you which way the voices with a record lean.
  4. What does it cost? Several of these are free. You pay for grading or for data access.

What are the best StockTwits alternatives?

Quantral

Quantral is an investment ideas app built on alternative data. It reads finance X, Reddit, Substack and YouTube finance shows, plus Korean blogs on Naver, Telegram, Congress trades, insider buys, SEC filings and patents. Each account it tracks carries a graded track record: Quantral grades every call it tracks, losers included. Posts from accounts with a good record move a stock's 0-100 score a lot; a flood from unproven accounts barely moves it. You can open the score and see the posts behind it.

The limits: no community feed, no crypto and no free tier. It costs from $9.99 a month billed yearly, which starts with a 7-day free trial, or $14.99 month to month (as of October 2026). It runs on the web, iOS and Android, updates hourly, and has an MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT.

Best for: the one tool that grades the posters by their track record, so you research the names credible accounts are backing.

LunarCrush

LunarCrush casts the widest net here. It counts mentions, engagement and creators across X, Reddit, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and news, then blends that with market momentum into a 0-100 Galaxy Score. Stocks sit beside crypto and dozens of other topics. A free account gets market data plus 1-hour and 24-hour sentiment; Individual is $90 a month, $72 a month billed yearly, or $5 a day (as of October 28, 2026). It weights posts by engagement and keeps no record of who was right. Full comparison: Quantral vs LunarCrush.

Best for: attention across the widest set of networks, and investors who follow crypto too.

ApeWisdom

ApeWisdom reads about fifteen finance subreddits plus 4chan's business board, ranks tickers by mentions and upvotes, and shows the 24-hour change. It refreshes twice an hour, costs nothing, needs no login, and serves the same numbers through a keyless API. It does not read direction: a ticker can top the chart on a thesis or on a wipeout.

Best for: a free dashboard to see what Reddit is typing today.

ChartExchange

ChartExchange tracks mentions across more than 200 stock and crypto subreddits. Each ticker shows the count, the change from the prior period, a sentiment score from -1 to +1 and the day's price move, with the biggest jumps flagged as "heating up". The tracker is free; extended history comes with the Investor plan at $19.95 a month (as of October 28, 2026).

Best for: spotting mention spikes across far more subreddits than most trackers read.

SwaggyStocks

SwaggyStocks ranks the most-mentioned tickers on r/wallstreetbets over 12 hours, a day or a week, with a sentiment column, a call-to-put ratio and 30-day implied volatility beside each. It is free and needs no login (as of September 18, 2026). The sentiment column has no published method, so read the count and the options data first.

Best for: watching r/wallstreetbets with the options positioning a plain counter leaves out.

Adanos

Adanos is a developer API. Per ticker it returns a 0-100 buzz score and a separate sentiment score from -1 to +1, drawn from Reddit, X, news and Polymarket, refreshed about hourly. The free tier covers 250 requests a month for non-commercial use; Hobby is $29 a month and Professional $299 a month (as of September 18, 2026).

Best for: developers who want X and Reddit sentiment, kept apart from volume, inside their own tools.

Common questions

Is Quantral a StockTwits alternative?

For the sentiment read, yes. Both give you a per-stock view of which way the crowd leans. Quantral reads more sources than one community and weights each post by the author's track record. For the community, no: Quantral has no feed, no cashtag stream and no free tier.

What is the best free StockTwits alternative?

ApeWisdom, for a no-login count of what Reddit is typing, with a free API. ChartExchange is free for mention spikes across more than 200 subreddits, and SwaggyStocks is free for r/wallstreetbets. Quantral is paid, with a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan.

Does StockTwits weight sentiment by track record?

No. The StockTwits meter tallies bullish and bearish tags, so every account counts the same whatever its history. Weighting posts by the author's track record is the thing Quantral adds.

Which StockTwits alternative covers X and Reddit?

Quantral, LunarCrush and Adanos all read both. Quantral is the one that grades the accounts on both platforms. LunarCrush adds YouTube, TikTok and Instagram; Adanos delivers both through an API.

Do any of these tools predict stock prices?

No, and none of them claims to. A score, ours included, describes a conversation. Use it to decide what to research.
