The best stock to invest in right now, according to the finance accounts we track
By Maya Koeva · September 11, 2026 · 11 min read · Updated October 20, 2026

All eight stocks that cleared our floors this month closed the week to October 19 lower than they started it. Nebius fell 19%, Lumentum 16.2%, TSMC 5.4%. Across the eight, the accounts we track with a graded record posted 111 bullish calls and 21 bearish ones.
This is the October 2026 edition of our answer to "what is the best stock to invest in right now": the names those accounts rate highest, with their split beside every score so you can check the work. The answer this month is TSMC. The open bet is Nebius, last month's answer.
The short answer, as of October 20, 2026: TSMC (TSM) has the strongest read among the stocks with enough conversation to judge, a score of 81 with graded accounts 14 to 0 bullish in the week to October 19 and 26 to 0 over 30 days. ASML (ASML) has the highest score, 86, on a graded split of 5 to 2. Nebius (NBIS) has the deepest graded room on the list, 50 to 8 that week, after a 19% fall.
Why "best stock" needs a floor
The raw top of our board this morning has ASML at 86 on 39 mentions, FormFactor also at 86 on eight, and Modine and GE Vernova at 84 on eight and four. A signal score on a handful of posts describes a small room, and a small room can agree with itself by accident.
Two floors decide who gets ranked: at least 20 mentions from the accounts we track in the last seven days, and a graded split you can see. Graded means the bullish and bearish calls from accounts with a real track record: more than ten resolved calls, and more than half of them right. Thirty-six companies cleared the mention floor this week. Eight of them score 80 or higher.
The best stocks to invest in right now, ranked
Every stock with 20 or more mentions this week and a 7-day score of 80 or higher, with what the company makes, the graded split this week, and mentions and price over 7 days with the 30-day figure beneath each:
| Score | Bull : Bear | Mentions (7d) | Price (7d) | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
ASMLASML · Chipmaking machines | 86 | 5 : 2 | 3962 (30d) | -5.9%-2.0% (30d) |
LumentumLITE · Optical parts for data centres | 82 | 10 : 1 | 41219 (30d) | -16.2%-10.4% (30d) |
AST SpaceMobileASTS · Satellites that connect to phones | 82 | 2 : 3 | 61211 (30d) | -18.6%-28.5% (30d) |
TSMCTSM · Contract chipmaking | 81 | 14 : 0 | 40110 (30d) | -5.4%-3.3% (30d) |
SanDiskSNDK · NAND flash memory | 81 | 11 : 3 | 64208 (30d) | -7.8%-23.5% (30d) |
NebiusNBIS · AI cloud | 80 | 50 : 8 | 170443 (30d) | -19.0%-23.8% (30d) |
SK hynixSKHY · DRAM and HBM memory | 80 | 13 : 3 | 106293 (30d) | -11.9%-23.8% (30d) |
BroadcomAVGO · Custom AI chips, networking | 80 | 6 : 1 | 27162 (30d) | -5.7%-6.4% (30d) |
Seven of the eight sell into AI data centres: the cloud that rents out the chips, the memory and optics inside the servers, the foundry that makes the chips and the machines the foundry buys. AST SpaceMobile is the exception, with a graded split that leans bearish, 2 to 3; it gets its own read on our space stocks list. SK hynix trades in New York and in Seoul; its mention counts and graded split combine the two listings, and its score and price are the US listing's.
The graded column changes how you read the score. ASML's 86 rests on seven graded calls, and so does Broadcom's 80. Nebius's 80 rests on 58. Those are different amounts of evidence, and the score alone does not show you the difference. Then read the price column: all eight are lower than a week ago and lower than a month ago. A high score on a falling stock is an open bet, so this month every row is one, and the useful question is which room has earned it.
The answer: TSMC, and why it is not ASML
ASML has the higher score, 86 against 81, and a week that came down to one day. ASML reported its third quarter on October 14, and 32 of its 39 mentions this week landed that day. The graded accounts liked the quarter: one called it a blowout, with sales guided 22 to 30% higher quarter on quarter, and another pointed to demand running ahead of supply through 2030. Two graded bears posted as well, one of them flagging a falling order fill rate and a shrinking backlog. The split was 5 to 2, and the stock fell 3.9% on the day of the report.
TSMC reported a day later, on October 15. The accounts we track read it as a beat, with fourth-quarter guidance above expectations and management saying demand for its leading-edge and AI chips runs well above what it can supply. Twenty-two of TSMC's 40 mentions this week came that day, so some of the volume arrived with the news. The lean was there before it: graded accounts posted 12 bullish TSMC calls in the 30-day window before the report, and no bearish ones. Over 30 days the graded split is 26 to 0 across ten accounts, the only room on the table with no graded bear in it.
One account carries a large part of that number. TheValueist, one of the most graded accounts we track, posted 14 of the 26, several of them news shares with a mild lean. Take those out and TSMC's graded room is 12 to 0 across nine accounts: smaller, and still one-sided.
TSMC also had the smallest fall of the eight this week, 5.4%, including 1.8% on its report day, and it is 3.3% lower than a month ago. It is still an open bet. Of the eight, it is the one where the score, the graded split and the price disagree the least.
The best AI stock to buy now
Take AST SpaceMobile off the shortlist and the seven left are AI stocks: companies whose sales ride on spending for AI data centres. Over 30 days their graded rooms look like this:
| Score | Bull : Bear, graded (30d) | Mentions (30d) | Price (30d) | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
ASMLASML | 86 | 12 : 2 | 62 | -2.0% |
LumentumLITE | 82 | 81 : 6 | 219 | -10.4% |
TSMCTSM | 81 | 26 : 0 | 110 | -3.3% |
SanDiskSNDK | 81 | 61 : 6 | 208 | -23.5% |
NebiusNBIS | 80 | 138 : 14 | 443 | -23.8% |
SK hynixSKHY | 80 | 36 : 7 | 293 | -23.8% |
BroadcomAVGO | 80 | 29 : 7 | 162 | -6.4% |
TSMC leads this list on the same terms as the one above: it makes the chips for most of the others. If by "AI stock" you mean a company that depends on AI data centres for most of its sales, the read comes down to two names. Lumentum, which makes optical parts for those data centres, scores 82 with graded accounts 81 to 6 over 30 days, across 15 accounts. Nebius, a neocloud that rents out AI computing power, scores 80 on the deepest graded room on this page: 138 to 14 over 30 days across 17 accounts, and 50 to 8 this week.
Nebius is the open bet. It was this page's answer in September, and it is 23.8% lower than a month ago. On October 14, as the accounts we track passed around CoreWeave bonds trading near a 15% yield, CoreWeave fell 15.5% and Nebius 10.1% with it. By October 19 Nebius sat 31.9% below its October 6 close of $249.87.
The graded accounts bought the drop and posted about it. One added at $198.50 on October 13 and grew the position from 25,000 shares to 43,000 by October 15. Another set a limit order at $160 and argued Nebius is built differently from other neoclouds, pointing to customer-funded spending and contracted power. A third called it the only credible AI cloud. The eight graded bearish calls included a nod to Michael Burry's short, a warning that momentum names could halve in a market correction, and a note on a brutal week for data-centre stocks.
Check who is talking, too. Two accounts, ren_stocks and babyfolio, posted 31 of the 50 graded bullish calls this week. That is strong conviction from a few accounts on a stock that has not paid them yet. Lumentum, 10.4% lower on the month, carries less price damage.
Who made the calls
Some of the best graded accounts we track are behind both reads; eight of the nine below rank in our top 20 by track record. Their record across every stock we grade, and their bullish and bearish posts on each name over the last thirty days:
| Account | Resolved calls, all stocks | TSMC (30d) | Nebius (30d) |
|---|---|---|---|
@aleabitoreddit | 1,531 | 1 : 0 | 2 : 0 |
@TheValueist | 1,275 | 14 : 0 | 1 : 0 |
@CKCapitalxx | 684 | 19 : 3 | |
@ren_stocks | 413 | 47 : 4 | |
@Kaizen_Investor | 361 | 2 : 0 | |
@daniel_koss | 300 | 17 : 0 | |
@babyfolio | 233 | 1 : 0 | 26 : 1 |
@Aaronwei3n | 171 | 3 : 0 | |
@cmsinvests | 76 | 8 : 1 |
Read the record before the split. The two rooms lean on different people: TSMC's on one account with a long record, Nebius's on four heavy posters, who wrote 117 of its 152 graded calls. The credibility weighting behind the score counts a record of 1,275 resolved calls differently from one of 76. Three of these accounts have profiles on this blog: aleabitoreddit, TheValueist and CKCapitalxx.
The best stock to buy now
By the read of the accounts we track on October 20, 2026, the best stock to buy now is TSMC, with Nebius as the open bet on the same AI trade. Every name on the shortlist is lower than it was a week ago, so "now" needs two checks before you act on any row:
- Did the volume come with the news? ASML's week was 32 mentions on one report day, TSMC's 22 of 40. A report-day spike tells you what the crowd thought of the report. The three weeks before it tell you whether the lean was already there.
- How many accounts make up the graded split? TheValueist posted 14 of TSMC's 26 graded calls over 30 days; two accounts posted 31 of Nebius's 50 this week. A lopsided split from two accounts is still two opinions.
The price column is the last check. Nebius is 31.9% below its October 6 close, so buying it means siding with the graded accounts against three weeks of selling. Run the six checks in how to research stocks on whichever name you land on.
What stocks to buy right now, if you go by volume instead
The same week, sorted the other way: by how much the accounts we track are talking about a name rather than by what the graded accounts think of it.
| Mentions (7d) | Bull : Bear, all | Bull : Bear, graded | Score | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
CoreWeaveCRWV | 277 | 79 : 177 | 11 : 22 | 41 |
TeslaTSLA | 257 | 79 : 146 | 12 : 4 | 57 |
MicronMU | 173 | 102 : 60 | 24 : 4 | 72 |
NebiusNBIS | 170 | 124 : 34 | 50 : 8 | 80 |
NVIDIANVDA | 146 | 99 : 37 | 25 : 2 | 62 |
CoreWeave was the most-discussed stock in our coverage this week, and the one name of the five where graded bears outnumbered graded bulls, 22 to 11. Its score is 41. Tesla came second with the crowd and the graded accounts on opposite sides: 79 to 146 bearish across everyone, 12 to 4 bullish among graded accounts, and a score of 57 between them. Micron and Nvidia carry bullish graded rooms and scores below 80. Nebius is the one name on both lists.
"Most talked about" and "best" are different lists, and only one of them is weighted by who has been right before. A page that answered "what stocks to buy right now" by counting mentions would have put CoreWeave first this week.

Where to check the live reading
This edition is a snapshot of a red week, and November's table will look different. Read it in the order the tables are laid out: the graded split, then how many accounts it comes from, then the price. For a process that turns a shortlist into a decision of your own, start with how to know what stock to invest in; the how to pick stocks checklist is the version you reuse. The same method ranks semiconductor stocks and AI infrastructure stocks on their own.
The Quantral app shows today's score on every name above, each call behind it, and the record of the account that made it.
Price moves are 7 days (the October 12 close to the October 19 close, five sessions) and 30 days (September 18 to October 19). Mention windows are October 13 to 19 (7 days) and September 19 to October 19 (30 days), US Eastern time. Mention counts and splits cover the accounts Quantral tracks; graded accounts have more than ten resolved calls, most of them right. SK hynix mention counts and graded splits combine its US and Seoul listings; its score and price are the US listing's. Company news attributed to the accounts we track is as they reported it. Scores are the seven-day reading as of October 20, not historical values. Positions attributed to accounts are their views, not Quantral's.
