The best space stocks right now, ranked by the accounts with a track record

A thin hairline orbit ellipse around a small outlined planet, with four small squares placed along the orbit and one of them filled slate blue.

Space stocks are the listed companies that launch rockets, run satellites, or build the spacecraft and parts that go up on them. This page ranks the ones the finance accounts we track are talking about, by score, with the split from accounts that have a graded record beside every number so you can check the work.

This edition covers the week to October 19, 2026, a bad one. Twelve of the 13 space stocks we track closed lower than they did a week earlier, Rocket Lab by 21.8%. The crowd turned bearish. The accounts with a record ran 19 bullish to 7 bearish.

The short answer, as of October 20, 2026: SpaceX (SPCX) has the strongest read among space stocks, with a score of 79 and graded accounts 4 to 1 bullish in the week to October 19. Rocket Lab (RKLB) has the most one-sided graded room, 18 to 3 bullish over 30 days, after a 21.8% fall that week. AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) has the highest score, 82, while its graded calls leaned bearish, 2 to 3.

What counts as a space stock

There is no official list. Ours is the companies whose main business is in orbit or getting there, grouped by what they sell:

GroupWhat it doesCompanies
LaunchPuts satellites and cargo into orbitSpaceX, Rocket Lab, Firefly Aerospace
Satellite internet and phonesSells connectivity from orbitSpaceX (Starlink), AST SpaceMobile, Iridium, Globalstar
Earth observationSells images and data of the groundPlanet Labs, BlackSky
Spacecraft, stations and the MoonBuilds the hardware that fliesRocket Lab, Redwire, Voyager Technologies, Intuitive Machines, Firefly Aerospace, Sidus Space

That is 13 companies. SpaceX and Rocket Lab sit in two rows because they sell in both. Defense contractors that also build satellites stay off the list: space is a small part of what they do.

How we rank space stocks

The accounts we follow mentioned eight of the 13 in the last seven days: 195 mentions, 74 bullish to 109 bearish. Three of the eight carried 180 of those mentions. The other five sit on a handful of posts each. Planet Labs scores 82 on nine mentions, Firefly 79 on two, Intuitive Machines 75 on two. A signal score on that few posts describes a small room, and a small room can agree with itself by accident.

Two floors decide who gets ranked: at least 20 mentions from the accounts we track in the last seven days, and a graded split you can see. Graded means the bullish and bearish calls from accounts with a real track record: more than ten resolved calls, and more than half of them right. Across all eight names this week those accounts ran 19 bullish to 7 bearish, while everyone together ran 74 to 109.

The best space stocks right now, ranked

Every space stock with 20 or more mentions this week, ranked by its 7-day score, with what the company does, the graded split this week, and mentions and price over 7 days with the 30-day figure beneath each:

Rocket LabRKLB · Launch, spacecraft646 : 360129 (30d)-21.8%-20.5% (30d)

Read the graded column before the score. AST SpaceMobile has the highest score of the three and the only graded split that leans bearish this week. Rocket Lab has the lowest score and the most graded calls, two to one bullish, through the worst week on the table. The score weighs everyone who posted, and this week most of them were selling or venting. The graded column shows what the accounts with a record did with the same news.

The answer: SpaceX, with Rocket Lab as the open bet

SpaceX is the one name where the score, the graded accounts and the price point the same way. It scores 79. Graded accounts ran 4 to 1 this week and 13 to 6 over thirty days, the widest graded room of the three, eleven sources in all. One of those six bearish entries is a sale disclosed by a member of Congress. The stock fell 9.5% on the week, half as far as the other two, and is 3.1% lower than a month ago.

Among this week's bullish graded posts, one account argued a subsea cable disruption would help SpaceX, a YouTube analyst pointed to Starlink growth while flagging the dilution from Elon Musk's announced share giveaway, and another noted the stock had held up through the space sell-off. The bearish one came from an account that does not buy new listings at launch.

The loudest SpaceX room this week was on Reddit, and it was not this one. Of 59 mentions, 47 came from Reddit, most of them bearish and about valuation, the share giveaway and the coming share unlocks. SpaceX reports its third quarter after the close on Tuesday, October 20, and up to about 1.3 billion insider shares can be sold from two full trading days after that report. An earnings report is a catalyst on its own, and the unlock is a test of float. The dates, the lockup table and how the stock has traded since its $135 IPO are in our SpaceX IPO guide. This table predates the report.

Rocket Lab is the other half of the answer because it is where the graded accounts are most one-sided and the price has gone furthest against them. On October 14, after the close, the accounts we track reported that Rocket Lab had pushed the first launch of Neutron, its larger rocket, to 2027. The stock closed at $59.18 that day and $50.84 two sessions later, down another 14.1%, and 32.3% below its October 6 close of $75.06.

Rocket Lab (RKLB), daily closes, September 18 to October 19, 2026. The high is October 6 at $75.06; the Neutron delay was reported after the close on October 14.

Most of the crowd's posts were regret: buying near the top, holding through a round trip, and one predicting $20 before $100. The graded accounts split 6 to 3 and the bulls bought. One posted a $5,000 purchase and called it the best risk-reward in space after the drawdown. Another argued the fall overshot what the delay costs, pointing to the backlog in the company's spacecraft business. Over thirty days the graded room is 18 to 3. The three bearish calls were about timing: one account complained about when the delay was announced, one said a short put position now looked worse, and one expected the delay to drag the whole sector down.

That is an open bet. A graded room this one-sided on a stock that fell 22% in a week can be early or wrong, and only the next few months will say which. Rocket Lab's 64 says the crowd has not come round.

Who made the SpaceX and Rocket Lab calls

Some of the best graded accounts we track are behind both reads. Their record across every stock we grade, and their bullish and bearish posts on each name over the last thirty days:

@michaelsikand1161 : 12 : 0
@cmsinvests761 : 14 : 0

Read the record before the split. Each SpaceX column entry is one, two or three posts, so no single account carries that read. The Rocket Lab read leans on two accounts with four bullish calls each, and one of them has 76 resolved calls: a real record and a short one, which the credibility weighting behind the score treats differently from a record in the hundreds. Three of these accounts have profiles on this blog: TheValueist, CKCapitalxx and jukan05.

AST SpaceMobile: the top score with the thinnest graded support

AST SpaceMobile builds satellites meant to connect directly to ordinary phones through carrier partners. It scores 82, the highest on the table, and its graded split this week is 2 to 3. Over thirty days that graded room is 17 to 5, so the turn is recent.

The bullish side of this week's posts is concentrated. Of 21 bullish mentions, 11 came from one account without a graded record, adding on the way down and calling the stock a buy below $60. The bearish side came from more accounts and had more specific arguments: how many satellites the company can build a month, its reliance on other companies' rockets to launch them, competition from SpaceX's own phone service, and one account's estimate that it needs to sell another 10 to 15% in new shares within a year to fund the build. One graded account asked where the stock goes if the market corrects and suggested another 50% down. AST SpaceMobile closed at $41.87 on October 19, 28.5% below its September 18 close.

A score at the top of the table with the graded accounts leaning the other way is the case for reading the column. The number says the room is bullish. The accounts with a record say it is not convinced this week.

Space stocks to buy now? Check these first

Many of the space stocks on this page are pre-profit, and they move together: twelve of 13 fell in the week Rocket Lab delayed its new rocket. Before you buy one, check four things the posts above kept coming back to:

  • The next dated event. SpaceX's third-quarter report and the share unlock after it are scheduled. Rocket Lab's Neutron is now a 2027 story. A dated event moves a stock whichever way the result lands.
  • Who launches the satellites. A satellite company that depends on another company's rocket carries that company's delays. The AST SpaceMobile bears made this argument.
  • How the build gets paid for. Selling new shares to fund satellites dilutes the owners you would be joining. Look for the cash the company holds against what it says it will spend.
  • Who is making the call. The graded split and the crowd split pointed opposite ways on two of the three names here. How to research stocks walks through checking the rest yourself.

If one of these names is a long hold for you, the price this week matters less than whether the company hits its next launch date. If it is a trade, the dates above are the risk.

The most talked-about space stocks

The same week, sorted by how much the accounts we track talked about a name, with the platform split beside it:

Planet LabsPL97 : 25 : 07 : 282

All three of the big names were net bearish across everyone who posted. Only on AST SpaceMobile did the graded accounts agree. SpaceX's crowd was 47 of 59 on Reddit, Rocket Lab's split close to even, and AST SpaceMobile's leaned to X. Planet Labs is the quiet row: nine mentions, every graded call bullish, and 11 of its 14 graded calls over thirty days from one account. That is a small room, and it stays below the floor until more accounts join it.

Where to check the live reading

This page is a snapshot of one red week. The scores will have moved by the time you read it, SpaceX's report will be out, and the table should be read as of the date at the bottom. The order of operations holds: check who is making the call, then how many of them, then the price. The same method ranks semiconductor stocks and AI infrastructure stocks. For a process that turns a table like this into a decision of your own, start with how to know what stock to invest in.

Price moves are 7 days (the October 12 close to the October 19 close, five sessions) and 30 days (September 18 to October 19). Mention windows are the 7 and 30 days to October 20. Mention counts and splits cover the accounts Quantral tracks through October 20, 2026; graded accounts have more than ten resolved calls, most of them right.
