Quantral now reads Korean broker research on Telegram, in English

South Korea's brokerages post their research to public Telegram channels, in Korean. Quantral now reads those notes and puts each one, in English, on the page of the KOSPI or KOSDAQ company it covers, with the rating and the target price change spelled out in one line.

A broker note, and why it helps you

A brokerage research desk is a team of analysts paid to follow a short list of companies in depth. When they have something new to say, they publish a note with three parts: a rating (Buy, Hold, sometimes Sell), a target price for where they think the stock should trade in about a year, and the reasoning behind both, often a preview of the next quarter or a read on a new contract or factory.

In Korea, many desks post a short version of each note to their own Telegram channel. For an investor outside Korea, those channels show how the analysts who follow Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix or a KOSDAQ parts maker every day read the company. Until now, following them meant reading Korean.

A rating on its own tells you little. Sell-side desks rate most of what they cover a Buy, so the useful part of a note is what changed: a target cut while the rating stays at Buy, an upgrade after a year at Hold, a first note on a company the firm never covered. Quantral shows you those changes.

• Changes only. A card appears when a desk starts coverage, changes its rating or moves its target. Maintained calls get no card, so a company's feed doesn't fill up with the same Buy every week.
• The firm and the analyst. Every card names the firm, and the analyst when the note carries a byline. Each analyst builds a track record in the app from how their past calls played out.
• Next to the crowd. Broker cards sit in the same company feed as Korean investing blogs on Naver, finance X, Reddit and Substack. You read what the analysts changed and what investors are saying in one place.

Finding the notes

• On Korean company pages. Search any KOSPI or KOSDAQ company by name, and its broker notes are in its feed. The Korean market launch post covers what else those pages carry.
• In Explore. Telegram has its own row. Open it to browse each firm's recent notes and its analysts.
